most dealers tell me that they have taken deposits on the car, but they have no hard date on it. a good guess would be a year.

997TT Cab is having a very unusual problem at the moment, so there is a delay.

A coworker of mine was 'forced' to spend 2 weeks in Germany at PAG/Weissach driving a 997TT Cab around trying to come up with a solution (he did...pretty elegant one at that).

He never drove a Porsche before in his life (he drives a Toyota as a daily driver).
His words when he came back:

"I have to buy one"

Care to elaborate on the "problem"?

Sure, but I don't think the customer would appreciate it.

It's nothing major, it was just noticed during executive test drives, it is in the cab and not the coupe, PAG is just trying to decide on how to deal with it.

It's going to be interesting to see if anyone notices it during press events/drives during the intro, depending on how the issue was dealt with in engineering.

No, but that would be unique.
Interesting little things like this pop up......like during an executive test drive there is a S/W bug discovered and the radio goes full volume (11 for those fans of Spinal Tap ) and there is NO way to shut it off.

The damned cabs are just different, so you sometimes hear things going on back there that you didn't hear in a coupe

I'll tell you this much. It's going to be damn hard making a Cab that will not develop little rattles due to the prodigious TQ this puppy turns out unless they want to make it weigh a couple of tons.

Is chassis flex part of the cause?

No, but I'll give you a hint.
It's similar to the #1 complaint about most aftermarket exhausts when they get into a certain RPM range....
