Not bad but what's up with that crazy wing? I think the Techart kit is much better.

The 550 hp is a start, but I still wouldnt call it a Z06 killer...the 0-60 time is still higher than the Z06, and the Z06 gets up to 50 hp from just headers. They need to start cranking out 600 and 700 hp versions of the 997TT!

Todd K with Protomotive already has hit the 500hp to the wheels with just chip tuning, that ought to be able to reel the Z06 in nicely I think, but then again if neither driver is up to par with the capabilities of the car it wont matter.

Article says Gemballa 997 TT can do "0-60mph in under 3.8 seconds"... funny cuz I believe bone stock TT can do it in 3.5 - 3.7 depending on transmission choice?

Geez, for the add'l cost of one of these ridiculously-priced plastic Gemballa conversions, I'd rather pick up a dedicated track-prepped Cayman S like Mooty's...or a Cayenne S for the wife.

50hp from just headers...????????? Where are you getting these figures from. EVERY single Z06 around here has had no more than 2rwhp gain after headers...tuning and intake is where all the gains are...headers...hardly any gain...50hp????

LG pro long tube headers. up to + 45.1 rwhp, +53rwtq

If you know people only getting 2rwhp with headers, they probably should have picked a different one.

Check out www.lgmotorsports.com.

Here's a before and after dyno showing +40rwhp.

And here's another making 91rwhp with headers and cams only.

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=566502

There are lots more examples. It just depends on how many you want. Other headers are made by Kooks, Dynatech, Mallett, etc.

Or you could just go with this 616 hp package for $4495.

The point is that the Porsche tuners need to up the ante to compete.

I think you are misunderstanding my point. Z's can gain tremendous amount of power by adding a tune and deleting the cats (30 -60rwhp)...you DON'T NEED headers to get these gains. If you ONLY do headers, with no tune, you are not going to see those figures...period. My gains were ALL in chaning the intake, removing cats and tuning...there were 2 others that did headers and the gains were insignificant...definitely NOT worth the $ 1,500+ you are going to pay for the install and the parts....
