Do a search on autotrader.com. There seems to be some around at list. I said "seems".

For what it's worth, I purchased a Cobalt Blue launch edition sitting on the showroom floor, Friday, *AT MSRP*. I simply emailed them and said "I will buy this car TODAY at MSRP." Since it was the end of the month and I was serious, they agreed with zero haggling.

Now, as I told you in another thread, call Intercity Lines to get that car out to the West Coast safely in an enclosed trailer...

Heh. The temptation is certainly there! I've done just that with a car bought in Chicago, and another in Detroit.

My boys and I were going to fly into Alabama and drive ours to Los Angeles. We decided against it. First of all, we were having way too much fun talking about the car on Rennlist with you guys while the anticipation kept building, and second, it was hotter than hell on the route and very costly to fly into Alabama. There were no direct flights to Huntsville, and by the time you would switch aircraft, it was a 10 hour day. It was a real shlep, so we stayed home and waited for Intercity and I am so glad we did.

I think everyone who wants a 997TT, and has the money to pay for it will get one. You might not get it tomorrow, but there is no reason to pay over sticker for it. They will make as many as they can sell. Just wait it out. I would not over pay for one for sure. Reminds me of when the new M5 was announced. I wanted to get one, but they were telling me that there was a huge wait, and they wanted over sticker. They can be had slightly under sticker now after only 6 months of them being in the US.

^^^Exactly^^

I lease all my cars. I'm going to be leasing the 997TT. Right now porsche is quoting me $2000 a month for 3 yr. 15000 miles a year. I think that's really high.

When I talk to leasing companies they are giving the car a residual value of $45K after 60 months. Not exactly holding value!!

Jason,
45% residual? Wow - Porsche Financial has it at about 65% for three years 10K miles. What sort of money factor were these lease companies quoting?

The question is are you willing to wait to get your car at MSRP. I think you stated that yours will be in December or so. Do you want to get your brand new baby in winter? Or get it now and enjoy it. Also a 10K premium, is it that big of a deal for you? For most people who can get one it is not and in my opinion life is way to short.

I agree that life is too short. But, Like I said above. I lease all my cars through my company. I will be leasing my TT through Porsche. I will drive it every day. I will drive it like I stole it. I will put 15K a year on it. I don't want to leae it for $2K a month now when it will be considerably lower by Xmas.

So, that being said, I don't care what the sticker is. I car what the lease payment is.

jason-i couldn't agree with you more about not paying over sticker, and being patient. i do not think that your 997tt will be less than $2000 soon, as the money factor sucks and will continue to suck. i think that 2k/month for the 125-130k turbo is what you will see for quite a while.

Default Your are probably right

But If I wasn't going to get one until OCT-DEC then I really have nothing to lose by waiting till then. We'll see what happens.
