Default thinking the Black TT will have to go

what a great car just not what I really enjoy .. It is an incredible peice of engineering but I cant deal with the soft Ride and quietness of the Turbo..the car is fast and handels very well but I am much more comfortable driving the GT3 ..more comfortable with its driving style. I gave it a shot but think it would be better in someone elses home.

You know 930man, I bought my last 911 in North Carolina. From Foreign Cars Europa. Wouldn't it be funny if I bought both my cars from NC?
- Well, since your selling it, don't hold us in suspense a second longer. How much? How many miles? What options?

I am sure there are a few of us that may be interested. (I find it interesting however that there are already two TT's being sold by Rennlisters) - I am not worried about the softness, I have a 993 with H&R Coilovers when I want a harder ride.

Sorry to hear your not happy with it.

Can you try and explain the soft ride? I have heard that from a number of
new TT owners........

The ride is wonderful. I think it is a matter of perspective and what you were driving. I drive and E55, and that is a sofa compared to the 997TT. So it is all relative. I can take the 997TT into town on Saturday night for dinner with the wife, or I can take it over the canyon and have some fun on a Sunday morning. Its a perfect ride for me and I feel fortunate to have one.

Mastiffdog....... you are 100% correct! i couldnt agree more.. i was more than fourtonate to have 1. the abilty to be able to afford one 2. be able to have the oppurtunity to buy it off the showroom floor.

like i said the car is wonderful fantastic superb ,,, just not to what i am used to.. i like stiff firm seat of the pants ride,, i like to feel wheel lift etc. i just didnt realize how much i liked it. i do go to the track once or twice a month on the average... most of the time my slicks stay on the car...

thank God we are in the USA where we can choose what we want !!!!

The 996TT/997TT have evolved (in 'as delivered' stock form) into Gran Touring cars, even though they are always ranked in the 'supercar' category.
A bit too heavy, a bit too many options, AWD......but that is why the GT2 and GT3 exist (thankfully).

Exactly, a GT more so. Makes sense, because I was looking at the SL55, DB9, Vantage and the Z06 while I was considering the Turbo.

I thought the SL55 and Aston Martins were just too cushy and not sporty enough. And I thought the Z06 was fabulous car (although I didn't like the "sling shot" seating position with the loooong hood), but not "rich" looking when it came to the interior components and fit/finish.

When it came to the Porsche, I also had a GT3 deposit, because I knew they were going to offer the PASM and a PCM/Phone in the car, but opted for the Turbo because it was perfect for my use. I felt with the GT3 by adding all of the comforts I would be trying to take a car great for one thing and turn it into something it was not intended to truly be.

With the 997TT, I got it all.

Does anyone know how the ride of the 997 Turbo compares to ride of the 997 C4S.

I tested an 06 C4S with a Tip before I bought the Turbo. Turbo has a slightly more planted feel to it, and maybe a bit softer on the suspension. They feel pretty close though.

I drove my friends 997TT the other day. Suspension seemed soft, even in sport mode. Little engine noise. Seemed too insulated. Now I understand "daily driver" quote I always hear. Promptly got on the GT3 list.

I live in Charlotte and may be interested depending upon your asking price vs MSRP.

While I have not been to VIR in a while perhaps we could meet there at a DE. I may have met you before at a DE at VIR?

Would I get any discount if I am faster around the track in the 997TT than you are in your gt3? I'll bet at VIR (on equal tires) the 997TT is faster.

An any event I may be interested.

RSR i think they would be close around the track same tires ..the brutes speed of the TT down front and back straight would even out the quick turn ins of the GT3. I am an " average driver" i think anyone who is a very good driver in a gt3 would be tought to beat with the TT... hell you only have 100 more hp and AWD... go figure...lol

i can push 2:08s that is about my limit now i dont know what it would be on the full course with TT.

i was second faster in the GT3 on the North course lap after lap than in the TT .

i will email you later
