Driveline knock Reverse to Drive to Reverse
When car is stationary with brakes and handbrake up, at idle when moving shifter from drive to reverse or reverse to drive, theres a knock coming from front diff
area, not too loud inside the car, just a bit louder when listening from under car. Ive posted something about front diff rumbling noise a week ago, but now I cant hear
that rumbling noise, Ive tried replicating the noise I heard last week but wont do it now.
So when I got home I thought Id do the drive to reverse/reverse to drive while stationary and I could hear the knock.
Dont know if its related to my original issue but sounds different, so I started a new thread.
This was after 30minutes drive, i dont notice the knock when reversing out the garage from cold start.
Can someone please check their car just to confirm that it is/isnt normal. 997.1 Turbo tiptronic
Thank you.

Only done 56k km/34k miles, parts havent been replaced. Just wondering if anyones turbo does the same noise, my lexus IS250 seem to do the same but not as loud. Wondering if its just the diff gear lash. Will try and check nxt time its up on the hoist

Change your fluids. Check the diff bushings.
If you're missing the brake pad dampeners, the pads can clank when changing direction. Doesn't sound like your issue, though.
