Insurance rates have creeped too high - who do you use?
Over the past couple years, our insurance rates for our 3 cars have inched up and the most recent increase was the proverbial straw. Who do you guys use for insurance, and how do your rates compare?
We're both in our 40's, 3 cars (2014 Frontier, 2015 Macan, 2009 997TT), perfect driving record, no accidents, etc. Currently carry 500k liability, 500k for uninsured and 300k for uninsured PD. Total yearly is $2700 which seems high. This is through travelers.
Does anyone have a comparable stable and paying significantly less? Would love to have some comps to help guide the shopping around.
Thanks

It doesn't matter. Just call them all and find out who is willing to bend over the furthest. The reason it doesn't matter is you'll be back in the same position in 2 to 3 years and it will be time to call and switch again.

This is pretty common and I looked into it in detail when our insurance rates creeping up with a very similar household to yours. It also depends on where you live.
I called couple of other companies and ended up getting rates closer to what I was already paying. Yes, you can save initially with another company but their rates will go up when it comes to renew.
Seattle is going through major growing pains and people are causing much more accidents either due to use of electronics, not knowing how to drive & etc. In addition, labor rates are increasing when it comes to repairs which we all end up paying for of course.
The whole industry is pretty regulated and all they do is mess around with your coverages to wheel you in.
If you have been happy with your insurance company, I will stay with them. Also, if you own a home, you are probably getting discounts on your home insurance so don't forget to factor that in.

Around $900 a car does not seem that bad actually. Shop on price, but also shop on what they are going to do when it comes time (hopefully never) to pay out a claim. Also, on a side note, make sure your carrier will replace parts with OEM. Many carriers require you to specify this and have an additional coverage for this.

I agree, that's not bad actually. I unfortunately have a couple of accidents on my record now as well as a 17 yo driver in the family and 6 cars...yikes, I'm scared to even add-up the bills now. However my TT runs around $1100/year from what I recall.

I'm happy with $900 a year. The delta from a C4s to a TTS was only about $100 a year. (Geico)
Having a DD Prius also helps.

That's what I was told when my rates were lowered by $375 each six months. Like the OP my insurance rates were being raised every year. So I called my carrier and told them that although I was a long time policy holder, I had decided to switch carriers. I was transferred to another agent, and was told that my credit score wasn't being considered, and after checking my rates were lowered considerably. My lesson learned is that you can't be passive with auto insurance companies. The great policy you had six years ago may not be so good today.

Use Grundy for both of the 911's, appraised value on the 997 of 70k is ~500/year.

I live in NJ. I am fortunate to own multiple cars and motorcycles and a double car garage plus have asked Geico to put my Porsche on "maintenance" (car is registered, licensed plates are attached) and under a trickle charger inside the garage from October to May... hence the premium for it is much lower for partial year requirements. And it takes a few days to reactivate the liability, comprehensive, etc coverage when I need to drive the vehicle.
