hello, I am in France, I have the same problem, I have to change the ballaster 997-304-081-50, not available at porsche, the supplier with whom they worked does not do this piece, they have to find another supplier .... I try to find this room elsewhere but I can not find anything. I contact the customer service Porsche I wait for their return, I hope it will make things happen

I'm really disappointed ... my 97tt is currently in the garage, dismantled box waiting for the famous piece. cold for the first few kilometers the 1 and the 2 are hard to pass, after 2 or 3 kilometers no problem. it's been a month and a half that we ordered for the piece, I think we'll go back like that

I don't know if any of these are what you need,... but I have some spare used parts from my 2007.
I had Brian Copans install a Porsche Billet Cup LSD in my trans 16 months ago, and while he was in there I had him take a look at second gear. No grinding when shifting up or down,.. but it was harder to shift from first to second than it was from first to third,.... especially when cold. He said the syncros were fine,... but the edges of the teeth on that ring thing were slightly worn on the one side. So I just had him replace everything to be sure. The 1-2 shift was only slightly improved when I got it back, which was dissapointing,.... but at least I know that's just how it's supposed to be. Not sure if this is what you need, or if a worn use part is of interest. I didn't see any numbers on the ring thingy. The ends of the teeth in the first pic are the good side,.. and the teeth in the second pic are the ones that have the worn edges.

I do have a case open with Porsche USA. They were going to try and find a definitive answer on why the part is not available and when it would be. Said they would call back today, but they have said that before. I am so pissed with Porsche right now. This is not an older 911, it was a 2007 997 tt. Same ring used through all years till 2012. So, everyone who has a 997 tt is sitting on a potential failure that will park your cars for possibly years. It is also not a super rare failure, I have heard from 997 tt owners world wide about it. So, while it sucks to be me right now, it could suck to be any 997 tt owner tomorrow with a manual tranny. |

I hope that it will go for you with this piece repaired, I was offered this piece of 996 turbo telling me that it is the same, but Porsche told me that it is not the same reference. I do not know if I go back with my damaged part or take it to a machinist. I do not want to wait 1 year .... sorry for my english but I use google translate, I'm french ;-) in fact the wear on this piece is very light, it's the garage that told me to change it. my problem is only cold for 2 or 3 kilometers, the 1 and the 2 are hard to get in, and the 1 is hard to get out. When I am stopped, no problem is driving even at low speed. a garage told me about the clutch stop, I do not know what to think .... |
