Default 997.1 broken tabs on maplight housing for sunroof

There are.two tabs on the back of this part by the mirror. Has anyone broken one off? Is there a doable repair or suitable fix for it? The photo is not the actual one, but it is the same piece. Any thoughts/help would be most appreciated.

When this has happened on my Audi S6 sunroof switch cover, I simply took thin sheet metal, cut it to size, bent it in a vise and epoxied it to the cover.

Worked very well.

That looks like what needs to happen here. I just need to fab up one that is hooked rather than going into a slot, and about half the size. That is a better idea than I had. I was thinking about just the small tab that broke, not the goal of hooking into the plastic part in the ceiling mount.

Look at this little flimsy tab. I actually expected just a little heavier tab there since it holds the sunroof crank and hole where you manually close the roof if it won't close.

YouTube has a lot of videos showing repairs. I have tried this one and it actually works and is holding.

That's a good video! I'm working on a fix ... I'll post pics when I'm done.

Ok, so the fix was cheap, ugly on the inside, but seem strong as hell and looks like new on the outside. I took two washers and bent them at 90 degree angles and then used a clear gorilla glue gel (copious amounts reinforced with wire as the paper was used in the above video). I let it cure for about three days, popped it in and it was perfect.
