Default Speedtech Exhaust Install Help 997.2

Need some help as I can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. I am installing the 3* speedtech x pipe exhaust with cat delete pipes and I cannot get the exhaust to line up. I am not sure if I have the exhaust brackets correct. It seems like they are keeping the exhaust sticking out about 1/2” from mating up to the turbo. Even with the help of clamps u can’t draw them together. Also how would I even get the new supplied exhaust brackets to secure it on over the oem strap mounts. Here are some pictures, any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Your x-pipe is upside down. Speed tech logo should be on bottom right instead of top left.

^ What he said. Only complaint about my ST system (at least for the .1) was the install instructions were not that great. Love the sound, though!

I noticed that the logo was upside down but the instructions say to have the longer pipes of the x-pipe towards the bottom. So the long pipes should be on the top?

I agree about the instructions. I have installed H&R springs, turbo inlet pipes, did a plug and coil change, and out all the exhaust has been the most frustrating. Looking at other speedtech systems that have been installed on a .2 that I can find pictures of, it looks like the longer x-pipe tubes go towards the bottom. I am not home at the moment and don’t have the instructions in front of me to confirm that’s what is says to do but I am pretty sure.

I have a .1 so I don't want to guide you wrong, but it's upside down. No doubt.

The pipe is on upside down. The shorter legs go on the bottom with the logo facing downward. I apologize, we recently shipped out a few 997.2 Turbo x-pioes with the older generation instructions. I recently destroyed the file so it will not happen again... I also responded to your PM.

I was able to flip the x-pipe around and get everything fitted up. A question I do have though is what is the torque spec the turbo to cat stud? I have done a couple searches and found anywhere from 22 to 26 ft-lbs and not sure what is right but I don't want to snap the studs.

Yeah obviously upside down, glad you got it sorted.

25ft-lbs should be fine for the M8 stud. There's not any weight on the studs because it's bracketed to the rear mount, and they don't typically come loose.

What I am worried the most about is over torquing them and snapping them. Read its pretty common.

More common to snap them pulling them off IMO, but I don't think with 25ft-bs you're going to snap an M8 bolt.
