Default New Wheels rubbing on Strut

This weekend I installed new rims and tires on my 997.2TT. I went from a 19 inch rim to a 20 inch rim. I kept the tire size the same, front 245 30 and the rears are 305 30.
I have a problem with the driver side wheel rubbing on the interior against the strut. The passenger side is fine. No problems with the rear. Any suggestions what might the problem might be?

I made a mistake in the original post. Fronts are 245 35 20 and rears are 305 30 20.

IMO your tires are too big, correct size for 20 inch wheels is 245 30

thank you for the reply but why only rubbing on the driver side and not the passenger side? I can’t figure it out.

Too tall - too much sidewall. 17% more than 30 at 20" (bottom diagram)

Be sure the offset is the same for the pass side rim, I suspect one is incorrect. If they are the same I suspect the pass side will rub too as you drive it more . I also agree your tire sizes may be incorrect, potentially harmful to the front diff.

If I am not mistaken the part he is rubbing on doesn't change it's distance with load. So weight is not an issue.

I went through the exact same hassle on a C4S when putting on 20s - the only difference, I didn't drive on them and Discount Tire took off the 35s and put on 30s.

Sidewall is too high and yes bad on the car and can void the warranty. Read your warranties.

As someone with an ounce of common sense pointed out, load shouldn't impact rub there so is a moot point.

Could be a difference in alignment?

There could be an issue with the way the upright is bolted to the strut.

If it has come loose - it may have slipped down a few mm - hence why it only rubs on the one side......

Had any suspension work done lately?

Might be worth checking?

Ohh and Tyres (tires) too big for sure.
