Default A first time Porsche purchaser.. 997tt

Bought this 11850 mile 2007 997.1tt, 6spd, axle lock, sport chrono, heated seats, nav, black/gray interior, Meteor Gray 911 a few months ago. A stunning car that looks fantasic and runs just as well. Several knowledgeable Porsche owners guided me in my search on the options, colors and things to look for in the "right" car. This one has the right ones without going crazy on interior and leather trim/options, which were unimportant to me.

Other than doing the 12yr recommended driveline fluids and 24 mo brake fluid flush, the other changes were preventive maintenance by replacing/upgrading the motor and transmission mounts on this otherwise stock car....the other major services were done 8 mos before purchase.

Completed a full paint correction, (even though it came in great shape), then Xpel frontal film (full bumper, hood, fenders, headlights, mirrors and rocker panals), and ceramic coating on film, paint, calipers, wheels and wheelwell liners over the winter........perfect!

Weather is improving enough to start enjoying this wonderful car. What a great 911, what a great find...thanks to everyone that helped me find this gem.

Beautiful! What a great color! It's warming up down here too! Took the RS out with some friends on a 100 mile rally this morning. Enjoy that great car!

Your new GT silver 997.2tt 2013 turbo is a rare and stunning beast. Never seen one in the flesh.

Thx. It was kept in a climate controlled parking area for 9 yrs by 1st owner, then bought by an owner of a detail/custom tint business before spending 8 months in NC before I purchased it. So it has been well cared for and was basically stock except for tires. Not many of these left with low mileage and unmolested.

I was quite pleased with the condition of the paint on the calipers. Several 997.1 I've seen had chips on the calipers from careless wheel removal and installations...these were perfect.

The wiper was unexpected and in the beginning I was unsure as to whether or not I liked it. As time has gone by it has basically become invisible to me. I've had several comments like yours about it, so it obviously isn't a major deterant to many people...others may not like it. I checked it out and was told if it bothered me, a simple rubber cap can be placed on the "stem" after the arm is removed. At this point I sort of like it as a conversation starter when people look at the car since in the US it is relatively rare....so far it is probably 90/10 regarding like/dislike comments I've received on the wiper option. Given that the car was spec'd and ordered in Miami, it is an unexpected feature.

That colour is stunning and you'll love this car. it looks smick.
I have a rear wiper and in all the years I have owned 911's (9) no one have ever mentioned the rear wiper.
Is the rear wiper actually a thing?
Enjoy!

Mine has a rear wiper, I think it's neat. Functional and you stand out from others in a subtle way.
