Calling all Aerokit wing owners of past or present
I had a 2011 Turbo S with Aerokit but for the life of me can not remember if it had this Ram Edge and part number is 997 512 471 01. I'll upload a diagram and it's part #23. What is this for and does anyone have one on their Aerokit car? It's around $700 before painting and I am trying to decide if I want to buy it for my Design911 replica Aerokit wing that I should have in 4 weeks.
Doesn't look like much for $700.
Thanks,
Tom

Incredible. I’m almost positive my last factory Aerokit car did not have that. And the dealer I sold it to did his research to make sure it was oem.
Guess I’ll order one. Must be to force more air into the intakes. Can’t think of any other reason. When the regular 997 TT wing is not deployed the blade in the lower position probably does the same thing.
Thanks for sharing the photos. And I’m assuming that double sided tape hopefully provided by Porsche holds up at the kind of speed these cars can do. I’d hate to loose a $700-800 part after painting and install while at high speeds.

if you go back to pg. 5 of this forum there are 2 threads that contain info on the aero kit package - "AEROKIT REAR SPOILER THOUGHTS & SUGGESTIONS " and "AEROKIT WING INSTALLED "
a lot of pictures and some of the "ram edge " installed.
good luck with your new wing !

I asked one of the Porsche factory drivers that I know about it, he said it cleans up the air coming over the vents on the deck lid. According to him they added it on after the fact because the 997tt generated a lot more turbulence than the 996tt in that area. It’s basically a wind tunnel tested improvement. I suspect some early ‘07 cars didn’t have it.
when you put it on the concave surface faces the rear window.
