3" catless exhaust .... Is a tune needed?
I just bought a 3" catless xpipe exhaust. I have a Cobb stage 2 tune. Is a new time needed to account for the lack of back pressure?
The seller without any tune said it seemed to lose power in the higher gears, and a tune would improve it.
Does anyone have this and daily drive?

I do not have this type of exhaust but it would totally make sense to me to re-visit the tune with a major change in exhaust system like that, esp. going from cats to catless. Maybe talk to Sam @ byDesign and/or the Cobb folks directly to get their feedback

No Cats removes the biggest bottle neck in the exhaust...I would expect it would run pretty damn fine on the cobb stage 2 but having said that, if she was mine I would speak with Sam at By Design...if you have the Cobb Access Port it's a very seamless process to get a tune remotely. Good Luck. p.s. I was driving mine frequently and with my Kline Inconel 3" decatted exhaust with custom tune by Sam she is the perfect grocery getter lady...until you press the Go Pedal above 3K then she bares her fangs and gets damn angry...

My tune is not a Cobb, but most tunes make minor internal adjustments without a re-flash. Unless you are squeezing out fractions of a second on the track or strip, I suspect the car will perform just fine on the street as-is.

Either needs to have a write out for the secondary oxygen sensors or correct spacers. (BigDaddyGarage ones work best). Depending on state inspections the write out might or might not pass with no-cats. In Mass it wont pass as the un-supported or readiness setting will show up.
