Default Spacers

I bought 8mm spacers for the front and 18mm for the rear. These sizes roughly seemed to be the consensus on this forum based on all my reading. Although I have not installed them yet, I am not sure 8mm will be enough to make a difference in appearance of the front. I am interested in your thoughts and whether it makes sense to go thicker in the front?

IMO, 8mm would be noticeable and on the outer limits of what I'd run -- I used 5/15mm and noticed a difference -- it looked better. But I wanted to balance looks with balance/feel issues that can arise with spacers.

Note that most 8mm spacers don't have a hub centric extension and that may cause wheel balance issues as the remaining hub extension may be too short to reliably center your wheel. There are some spacers that do have a "three-fingered" hub extension and will reduce this risk/problem. I'd focus on those if you're set on running 8mm.

One other note on spacers (or aftermarket wheels with offsets that push the wheels out) on the front: They can increase torque steer and steering kickback on bumps. It's not terrible, but you may notice it under certain conditions or as your front spacers get too wide.

Spacers on the rear are less a balance issue as pretty much all the wider spacers (>10mm) come with the hub extensions (make sure the concentric fit to both the wheel and hub is tight). 15mm looked very nice, though not super aggressive.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I believe the ECS spacers have the extensions you are referring to, please take a look at the pictures below and let me know if I am mistaken. I appreciate your help.

Yes -- those would be preferred.
