@011-2012 Turbo S-Champion Motor
I am new to this looking to buy my first Porsche. Considering Turbo S 2011 or 2012
Some one showed me a 2012 Turbo S low mileage, But it had a champion motor upgrade.
I get it could be fun with 700 hp. But is it good from a value and reselling perspective?
will it be harder to sell not being stock. will it be hard and expensive to service?
Many thanks!

I always say that modding a vehicle certainly reduces clientele for resale. So just have that in mind.
As for harder / more expensive to service... I doubt it.
My 2012 TTS run's high 10's stock and is a blast to drive. 700HP would be a monster on the road.
Good Luck

Turbo S is special as built by Porsche
motor build is not a value adder. Probably opposite.

The ONLY engine performance mods I would consider are an ECU flash and an exhaust that' s been installed and serviced by a reputable aftermarket provider. Any more than that may reduce the cars value and be expensive in the future to repair.
The only thing I've done to my TTS is lower it using Eibach springs and added a DSC that slightly improves handling. I don't plan to mod my car any further and would personally shy away from a modded 700 hp TTS monster. The TTS (IMO) came from the factory in near-perfect form and I just don't see how I could make it better.

I just bought my 997.1 TT in August, my first P car but I've had a pretty long list of high performance vehicles. I generally agree that modding to 700HP will not increase value and may decrease the value but after considering a tune/exhaust/intercooler upgrade I decided to go to bigger turbos (Tial 68mm) along with headers and fuel/air intake systems. I really love how the 997 TT drives and have always wanted a very high H.P. car and as the Mezger engine and drive train will handle it along with 997 Turbo chassis and suspension/brakes I made the decision to go up to ~700WHP (E85 tune, 93 octane s/b ~595HP). I haven't yet got her back from the build and tune but I am super excited to see how she drives...they are tuning right now. In my mind I have addressed some of the resell issues by choosing to keep, label and box ALL OEM parts so if I or the next owner wants to revert to OEM it won't be an insurmountable issue. Having said all that, when I bought mine I wanted an OEM low mileage example and that is what I bought. As others have said, an OEM 2011/2012 TTS is a damn substantial performance platform not to mention expensive so I would stick with that if it were me.

I 2nd what's said about about the only mods I'll being doing is Exhaust (already have Europipe) and a Tune (still considering a Cobb AP) but that's probably it.
Just those two alone (depending on OTS tune or Custom tune) will take the car to 530-575 WHP) which will keep just about anything from "Picking" on you on the street. Sure, there are always quicker / faster cars running around, but a mid 10 Sec. ride with the handling and luxury of a Porsche 911 TTS, it's hard to beat.

Stock is certainly fast!
Tuned (even the Cobb stg. 2 OTS tune) should make it really fun.

It is what you do with the horses that matters, not how many.

As a person that loves and has done drag racing, the HP does matter. (as does weight).
But, for road racing (Tracks), I agree that HP isn't as important. However, it does help also. (again, does weight and TIRES!)
On the street / curvy roads, it doesn't mater much at all. (most driver skill / bravery and TIRES)

Buy it, someone will want it. During my search the while I was deployed, I pretty much only wanted a modded car. Lo and behold a Turbo with the exact options, color, and price I want fell into my lap. Sent the deposit from a satellite phone on the other side of the world. Drive the hell out of it, enjoy it, and you will find someone else that wants it just the way you have it.

Also remember that majority of the folks on this forum have more purist opinions/attitudes. There is another forum site where you may get differing opinions as it caters to more mod like member participation.

Agreed. Try 6speedonline.com, I personally post more often there. My car is Full Bolt on with Do88 Pakage and Meth with an ESmotor tune. Have yet to find a more reliable car with horsepower at this level. Car runs 9's in the street at 140+ in my draggy. Good luck to OP!
