Default Electrical/Electronic Gremlins 2007 Turbo - HELP

my brother owns a 2007 Turbo and has been having some gremlins that the local tech has not been able to fix. Any feedback is appreciated.

- Wipers are inoperative. If you feed power to the motors they work (motor works). They replaced the wiper ECU ($) yet no wipers yet
- intermittent recognition of ignition keys. (it reads Key 1 or Key 2 but it does not release to allow the starter to rotate)

Have any of you gone through this?

Have not experienced those anomalies in my 997.1, but just speaking in generalities, it sure sounds like probable switch problems...

Well first off if you can power up the wipers and they work its not the motor or ecu. You need to check to see if there is a blown fuse or if there is power coming out of the switch when commanded.

And when you say it does not release what do you mean? like you can't turn it?

Correct, the steering lock releases but the starter doesn't activate. Inmobilizer issue?

Are you getting dash light?

You really need a scanner to see if there are any codes stored in the immobilizer and to see if the car is reading the key or not.

You can also get a meter on the small leg of the starter and turn the key if you are getting power in the run position then its a starter if you are not something is keeping the starter from engaging

If you want pm me and ill give you my cell and ill try to walk you through some diag
