997 Turbo model years?
Not sure what year the 997 Turbo started. I have seen 997.1 and 997.2 designations. Checking Wikipedia and other sites still didn't make it clear. 2006? 2007? Just curious as I am looking at possibly getting a 911 Turbo. Thanks. RJ

2007....maybe Europe came a year earlier as they often do, but in US I believe 07 is the first.....07-09 last Mezger engines

For the US, 07-09 is .1 and 10-13 is .2.

Also note that the 2009 model in the US is a "tweener". It is a 997.1, but it has a few updates from the 997.2 generation cars. Most notably, 2009 cars were equipped with PCM 3.0 as opposed to 2.1 (irrelevant now, as both are outdated), they offered optional ventilated seats, and they offered optional center lock wheels. Aside from the optional seats and the updated PCM, the only other interior change was the change from gray plastic to black plastic for interior trim. Many people consider the 2009 cars to be the sweet spot in the 997 turbo range.

I guess we have different definitions of irrelevant. While they both may be outdated, newer and better is still newer and better. I’d rather have an 09 than an 07-08 car for that alone. The question comes down to how much of a premium will you allow for those small improvements.
I think many people agree with you, which is why the 2009 cars are desirable. That said, I wouldn't avoid 2007 or 2008 cars as a buyer.

Saw a nice 09 TT Cab at BMW of Murrieta in Murrieta, CA. Tip, low miles and Aqua Blue. No Carfax posted yet. New listing. Not at home computer but will post it when I get back.

Good thread here on the broader 997.1 vs .2 https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ference-2.html. There's a good price difference between the two as well, mostly because they made a lot less 997.2TT.

12 pages... I'll give a read no doubt. I am in the market for a .2TT myself. Question if I may please; does the .2 (9A1) require the Coolant Pipes to be pinned as compared to the .1?

The 9A1 engines don't have the coolant pipe issues that the Mezgers did and as far as I'm aware haven't really shown any common major failures.

Back in the day when I bought my 997TT (2007) I added bluetooth and sat radio via aftermarket and it works great still today. Doesn't feel outdated at all.
I'd get an 07 all day long and just update the radio as I said if it bothers you.
