Coolant leak, NOT coolant housing epoxy
Driving to an MRI this morning and lost all my coolant. Got it home (4 stops at hoses along the way). Leaking on top of engine, passenger side, behind throttle body and power steering pump. Might be just a hose. Got it on jacks, took off air box, just cant get to it. Anyway, I was squeezing some hoses, and when I squeezed the one marked in red, I could see water spraying to the passenger side of the throttle body and power steering pump. Think the engine has to come out and I just do not have time. Ideas?

I have a couple of documents I put together planning for this task, if you want I can post them here. Some of the pictures are not very good, but there is a decent one of the cooling system, just not in synch with the engine itself, just a parts layout.

I've got a 20MB PDF that I someone posted a while back with lots of diagrams, pictures, data, etc. on the cooiling systems faults for the mezger engines, I believe it was exhibit documents Porsche put together as a result of an NHTSA inquiry/investigation. It's too big to upload here, I can email it to you if you send me your email..

Guy, any help would be appreciated. I have searched every damn picture, image and video I can find to see what is leaking on top of the engine and I can find nothing. My email is john@snakerivergroup.com. Thanks!!!!

Sent. Hopefully it makes it, I have a limit of 27MB on my outgoing mailserver, so depending on the incoming attachment limits of you guys, we may have to find a shared drive place to put it..

saabin, you are a god among men! Exactly what I needed. It is the red hose from the PS pump to the radiator.. No way in hell I can get it changed without dropping the engine. Crap. Wonder why it failed? I mean, it was not a small leak, water just pouring from it.
The PDF mainly deals with the coolant housing jackets and the epoxy. Love how Porsche says not enough was put on. Ummm.....it broke down after repeated heat cycles, bad design, plenty of adhesive. You can weld, pin, or gnurl and seal. Will do mine now engine is coming out.

One of the water lines to the right hand side turbo broke on my car recently. Way back in the engine bay but I managed to get to it after removing throttle body, AC compressor and some other stuff. It's actually not that bad, and gives you access to a couple of the water hoses.

I have only owned it a month. The cooling jackets have not been pinned, welded or gnurled and sealed. Want to check out my clutch setup too. So, drop the engine, address everything, good to go for another 44k miles, I hope.....
