I just joined the madness!
After owning a 2001 Boxster as my daily driver in Michigan (year round w/snows!) for 3 years, I have always wanted to get back into Porsche ownership. Ten years later - I finally checked the bucket list. I just bought a 2008 Turbo Cab/Tip, Speed Yellow, 18k miles! I know most do not prefer the cabs and the tips but being totally honest with myself as to my needs, it fits me perfectly. This is not a daily driver so I could have lived with a manual but I really had to have the cab. When I owned the Boxster, the driving experience was totally transformed with the top down and in Michigan you have to take advantage of the nice weather when you can. Driving with the top down is therapy for me (my license plate is QUIKFIX). I doubt I will ever turn the radio on.
I was a little concerned over the Speed Yellow on this type of car (my '32 Ford hot rod is almost the same color!) but I am loving it now with the black interior and the yellow stitching everywhere. I figure if you are going to buy a bad *** Turbo, might as well flaunt it in Yellow!
I have been looking at this forum for a month now - lots of knowledge here - hopefully I will never need to use it! I'd love to change out the wheels/exhaust based on seeing your car pics - but that is a topic for way down the road!

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. Enjoy in good health. Speed Yellow looks bad *** on a Porsche. I previously owned 2 996's both in speed yellow and one of it was a cab. Now lets see some pics.

Congrats on your purchase.... now go out there and "drive your car" like you stole it...
The car is meant to be driven.... not stared at sitting in some garage... I will be taking mine out today on a road trip to Canada and yes, I will be enjoying my 997.1tt

Speed yellow is pretty exciting to others on the road. I like it. Best of luck and enjoy the top down driving while you can!

Thanks for the congrats. I do plan on driving it (I put 12k miles per year on the Boxster) but this one will not be a daily driver - only evenings and weekends. I won't be a garage queen!
It appears I can not load pics with the free membership. After buying the car, I will need to check under the sofa cushions and the washing machine to see if I can fund the next level membership!!

Ahhh, yes. A very nice ride and the condition looks stellar! Extremely low miles as well...you must have had a "connection." Enjoy the ride - its one of the finest cars built, if not the finest!

Congrats! I think it is really cool that the bright "70's" colors are becoming popular (and valuable) these days.
