You think an 07 with 32k miles and a $130k MSRP is going to move quickly at $88k?

I don't think anything and I would not spend that kind of $$$ on it.

When you are living in the land of Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks & Boeing, it just does. Keep cheeking back to see when it disappears. Cars like this further makes the car OP is looking at a decent deal.

All of the above that TTG suggests is correct. Same for Silicon Valley, incl the above companies and a few hundred more. $88K or $188K, is parking meter money around here. Someone is going to buy this low mile turbo, soon. My bet it changes hands in the mid-high $70's.

Correct - greater than 10 years old and most banks and other lending institutions are out. Some credit unions will write loans on older cars. Many will write a loan once you own the car and have title.

A buddy keeps sending me any 997.1 Turbos he sees at auction. They are selling for way more money then I would expect at a dealer auction. Prices seem like full retail money.

It seems many credit unions will do loans on cars over 10 years old. The interest rates jump up significantly when they are over 10 years old though.

Thanks for the contributions to this thread, guys!

Quick check on bat, shows the following transactions:

2009 47k miles, meteor grey, black interior, aero kit, adaptive sport seats, limited slip, sport chrono, sold for $75k on 5/10/18
2007 34k miles, black, black interior, sport chrono, sold for $72.5k on 3/14/18
2008 44k miles, black, black interior, sport chrono, sold for $65.5k on 6/26/18
2007 21k miles, arctic silver, black interior, sold for $63k on 4/28/17

Based on this, would a $70-75k price, based on the seller's price of $80k, be fair? I'm curious what this car would do on bat.

Agreed, that’s my combo as well...although ‘08 and in cab...yes, I know, taboo for “true” 997TT owners. 😀

True story, bought sight unseen due to the color combo, when I asked the PPI guy what he thought about the car, he said “great car, well maintained, but it’s a cab and I hate that interior.”

Wish the best for you but man that’s a lot of coin for an old car. I stay with my under 70k price. $62-70k tops. Remember I own one and would love to see it but I just can’t logically see it going north of 70k.

Thank you for your response. The values of these cars all over the place. The way I see it, as objectively as possible based on whatever car valuation info is available to me on the internet, and as flawed as it may be to many here, is that if I owned this car and were to trade in this car to a dealer, they’d probably give $62-63k. I know dealers low ball on trades, but figure that’s a decent starting point of how high I should go.

add buyers premium to those totals...I think it is 5%?

That’s actually what I was referring to. Trade in cash, I guess I should have stated that. If you sell on yourself of course much higher. My apologies.

No apologies necessary! I figured thats what you meant

You know, I was initially looking at clean 996 Turbo's, preferably a X50. But when I see what a low mileage X50 996 is going for, I'd rather pay a bit more for the 997. The non-tilting steering wheel on the 996 may be the deal breaker as well for me.

I was talking to a Porsche dealership a couple months ago about a black 2007 6-speed they just got. It was a very low option car with about 30k miles. They didn’t have a price on it yet b/c they needed to have their shop perform an inspection. After the inspection they called me back and said they decided not to list it because it had some issues (oil leak, curbed wheel, scrape on front bumper). They said they were going to contact a wholesale buyer. I decided to make an offer of 58k for the car (just to see what they would do) and they came back and said the wholesale buyer would pay them 65k. I figured it would cost at least 5k to get the car fixed and told them to sell it to the wholesale buyer. The dealer was shocked at the price he got from the buyer....

Agree the market is going crazy for these.

Yep - Long, long ago, as a recent graduate my credit union gave me a loan on my first Porsche which was a 70 911E, then 20 years old. Payment was around $200/mo for 3 years. The rate was "high" for these days, probably 7% LOL. Later that car was a good chunk of the downpayment on our first house. I sure wish I still had it though.
