Not sure I understand this response. Don't mix, but 300V is completely compatible? Meaning what? You can drain and refill w/ 300 V but don't add a quart to existing supply? or what?

That being said, this alters the formulation of 300V and we would recommend trying to stick with 300V for the entire drain interval if you can for maximum oil performance- Nick

The original question was whether you can mix 300V with Mobil 1. The simple answer is, yes. 300V is completely compatible with other oils for top offs etc and there is no risk by mixing oil brands with 300V.

Hello All,
Great thread and thank you to all of you who use Motul!
Just to clarify a few topics here:
- Motul was founded by Swan & Finch in the USA in 1853 and later became an independent lubricant manufacturer based in France (an ally in WW2) in 1932- that is where we continue to be headquartered today and have been ever since. Speaking of history, did you know Motul was the ever first multi-grade oil available? That goes for the first semi-synthetic and the first fully synthetic engine oil as well.
- The 300V engine oils have all the necessary detergents/dispersants etc as a regular service engine oil. We only recommend a shorter interval due to it being a motorsport/track product from a legal perspective. While it is our flagship-highest-
performing product, the 300V doesn't hold the Porsche A40 engine approval like the 8100 engine oils- 8100 X-cess 5W40 and 8100 X-max 0W40.
- 300V does have a high ZDDP additive package BUT we also use a unique ester group 5 synthetic base oil that has additional anti-wear properties vs common synthetics for added engine protection.
- Motul Sport 5W40, 5w50: This product is positioned between 8100 and 300V and is only available in 2 grades. It is a 100% synthetic oil w/ Ester where the 300V is 100% synthetic w/ EsterCore technology- a proprietary formula w/ a higher concentration of esters vs the Sport.
I hope this helps and please reach out to us if you have any questions in the future. - Nick
