I'd also pick the 09.

In 20 years from now when the 997 is as old then as the 930 is now is the newer Nav display really going to mean anything going from an 07 to an 09? My iPhone will probably have a projected hologram to do most things.

I love the .2 tail lights over 07 and 09.

Besides the improved UI, it just plain looks better, even if you never turn it on. The .2 cabins as a whole look more timeless, elegant and cohesive than the .1s with the cluttered gray stack that manages to clash with almost everything. It's like comparing a 2007 Blackberry to a 2011 iPhone - sure, the iPhone 4S is way out of date but which one has aged better?

Also apparently the glue on the coolant pipes was changed/fixed on the '09 which vastly reduces the chances of leaks and the requirement to replace, pin or weld.

This is another compelling reason to choose an ‘09, even if you don’t think the PCM upgrade is enough. Pinning the pipes isn’t cheap.

The fact that Porschephiles tend to go a little crazy over anything that is the “last of the _____” and anything with low production numbers probably favors the ‘09s as well (the last of the Mezger manual turbos with the lowest production numbers of those 3 years). I’m not sure this is analogous but it’s something I’ve followed. The 3rd gen RX-7s and 4th gen Supras have been really climbing in value. There is a meaningful difference in value for a ‘95 FD or a ‘98 Supra, the last years they were imported and the hardest to find in good condition, over the ‘93s.

It was changed in the month of March 2008.
Adhesive and assembly proces was modified. Whatever that means...

I’d be willing to bet that over time the gap between 09 and 07-08 prices will grow. It’s happened across the range of all 911 models and years. The low production cars command significant premiums that can’t always be justified by objective reason. I would’ve been happy with any of the .1 years, ended up with an 09 only because it was the right deal at the right time.

Where did you find this information on the adhesive change? Can you provide a link?

My 2008 was built in July of 2008. If they did change the adhesive and assembly process in March of 2008, some 2008 model year cars also received the update. I was somewhat surprised that they were still building 2008 model year cars in July of 2008. This piqued my curiosity as to when they actually started building 2009 model year cars. I ran a search on cars.com and found 25 2009 turbos. 8 of these 25 had build dates of July 2008. So it appears they made the model year switch in July of 2008. I almost had a 2009.....

I also looked for MT for a year and settled on PDK which some prefer.
