Default 18” over PCCBs- pic included

18” over PCCBs
I’m trying to sort wheels/tires quickly and although their are several 18” options on the boards and TR I’m a bit concerned with clearance and potentially damaging my PCCBs. I’m also Centerlock that limits my options.

I do like TireTacks 19” options but not in stock so up to a few month delay.

This is is a picture from Damon at TireRack and although it fits it scares me- what are your thoughts and experience?
thanks in advance!

calipers have zero movement. rims have zero movement when torqued properly. as long as you have 2-3 mm clearance nothing should hit. would heat buildup be any issue? possibly. but as long as the calipers clear theres no fitment issue

use wheel studs or rennline mounting studs to ensure you dont whack the rotors or caliper when installing or removing

We are running 19in on the 991 GT3's and GT4's with 410mm ceramics on the front, and clearance is about 1.5mm. We haven't had any ceramic rotor damage from what i recall. The calipers and barrels take a beating from rubber and rocks, but on track cars it is expected and we clean them between each event.

If you're worried about the damaging/wearing out the PCCBs, get yourself a set of Surface Transforms ceramic rotors. They are manufactured in a way that is much more resilient to demage, and limits carbon oxidation to the surface of the rotor so you can safely refurbish them for an average lifespan of 12-15k track miles vs the 4k or so you'd get out of a set of PCCBs.

Looks great and will be fine if there's clearance.

I picked up some new OZs in19” to give me a bit more clearance. Went with GT2RS size/offset in bronze for my white Turbo. Went with MPSC2 tires so I can still use on street. Excited!
