Looking for another P car
In the next year or so I'm looking into a 987 or a 981 spyder for the wife (and possibly me) and would love outside opinions and comparisons on either model.
I would prefer the 981 of course for the exterior, slightly more user friendly top, and the power. The thing that I'm debating is whether or not those things are worth the 30-40K premium they have on the 987's. Also, from what I've read these are great, connected, "driver's" cars whether a 6 spd is a must or something we'd regret.

I would get the 987 Spyder.I wouldn't care about the savings. I feel they are more traditional in styling. I looked at these when they first came out and they are great cars. Came a long way since my 02 Boxster S which was an awesome car in its own right. I would only go 981 if you really want the modern electronics. Not sure I would find it more of a drivers car.

I prefer the 997 over the 991 when it comes to 911's, mostly due to looks and since mine is a weekend car I like the more connected feel. However, I would go for the 981 Spyder in this case. The Boxster in 981 trim is absolutely an amazing looking car. You are getting the 3.8 C2S engine which sounds absolutely amazing (it is the one thing I really prefer about the 991 over the 997 when I was choosing to buy my car and the hardest thing about going with a 997 instead of a 991) and an amazing feeling manual transmission.
