MY EXPERIENCE WITH SOUL
Just wanted to give a quick recap/review of my exhaust debacle, which has a good ending.
I'm sure plenty of you caught my threads on the unfortunate experience i had buying a system through the Rennlist classifieds.
Moving forward i still needed exhaust and decided i was done going second hand. I contacted SOUL after seeing them on the forums and IG. I liked their design and love supporting a new company. I spoke to John over there and ordered their catless setup with the GT2 style tips........Which they sent out for black ceramic coating for me. Within 2 days as promised the unit was shipped to me and arrived the day after.
This review is for two reasons................
1: The sound and build quality are exceptional. I have added sound clips to this thread, but the tone in person is perfect. Just what i wanted. Not too loud and not too quiet. Deep, aggressive Motorsport sound and the drone is minimized with their proprietary design using 4 resonators along with these two other HATZ (i think) resonators. I couldn't be happier. My other Porsche, a 991 GT3 RS has straight pipes on it and my entire block rattles every time i start it, i needed something a little less crazy, especially since ill use it daily during the warm months and i leave for work at 515am. This setup fits the bill perfectly. Cold startups are tolerable, and driving is a symphony.
2: Something very important to me (and i bet all of you) is how a company supports you after the sale. Well, SOUL really took care of me. It turned out that when installed the tips wouldn't sit at the same height. The right side was perfectly centered in the bumper hole, while the left side was sitting high and actually touching the top of the hole. My mechanic and I tried to troubleshoot every possible way to get it perfect but it just wasn't possible. After my last exhaust purchase i was nervous about having support issues again, but was thrilled with my experience with SOUL. It turns out now all cars are the same. After several emails back and forth with John, and a few photos an videos we determined all the 997 Turbos will sit (motor/chassis/body panels) just slightly different. So, SOUL made a change in their design, added another point of adjustability and less than a week later sent me a new X pipe to install. I got it on last night and everything fits perfectly. The customer support i received in getting my issue resolved is priceless. I was so upset with the first issues i had and wanted this all over with so i can just enjoy a nice sounding car. They made that happen as quickly as possible.
I wasn't compensated for making this thread, i just thought it was worth mention. If you're considering buying a SOUL system for your TT buy with confidence knowing you'll get top notch support along with an awesome sounding and quality built system.

Good to hear. Now if SOUL could just make the GT2 Tips for the 997.2TTs, my life would be complete

Trying my best to be patient also, 808c2s. Will someone PLEEEEEZE bring SOUL a 997.2TT for design and fabrication. I'm waiting for those GT2 tips too!

Great customer service for sure. I have a catless Kline setup for my turbo S sitting here calling to me, haha. Have to wait until the Cobb solution is released however, not interested in any check engine lights or dealing with spacers/mini-cats.

Why does the site say 996TT's 2002-2005?
Will your exhaust not fit my 2001 996TT?

I got one of their GT-2 tips. Only complaint for me was that the tips get hot to the point they will melt the 997.1. Turbos plastic ducts. Since only a 3/8” between top and bottom of tip exists, once you accelerate the engine will twist and melt the top on one side and bottom of other. If you are ok with this then good to go. I just recently replaced both motor mounts. If you have old OEM, expect larger engine movement. Unfortunately, I will have to remove them and install the OEM tips and replace both ducts.
