Default Insuring a high value Porsche in the UK

Hi guys,

About to take ownership of my new (to me!) 997 Turbo S, and need to insure that bad boy. Honestly this is my first time owning a car of this sort of value (my previous ride was a 2014 Audi RS5) so I'm hoping for advice on good car insurance providers from folks in the UK.

I'm more concerned about making sure I'm actually covered if the proverbial hits the fan than I am about getting the lowest possible premium. Can anyone recommend companies that deal with high-value cars, or recommend companies you've had poor experiences with?

Thanks,
Nate

I didn't get any responses, but I've educated myself and got a deal I'm happy with from a specialist insurance underwriter. So thought I'd share here:

My advice is to go to a performance car specialist broker. They will ring around and get you the best deal they can from underwriters offering products with a greater level of protection than your cheap as chips options on comparethemarket. I got a quote at £1600 from one broker, but then spoke to another broker and told him my best quote was £1400. He matched it from the same underwriter (Aviva Distinct), so that's the policy I've gone for.

You can do agreed value policies, but they tend to be more expensive and favour classic cars.

I had a 997.2 c4s insured with Admiral for about 450 per year. Central London postcode. Not quite a TTS, but Im surprised the difference is that big.

I’m under 30 which I think is the biggest factor here.
