Also extremely curious about that claim. It would explain a lot but also sounds like that "parking brake at one click for RWD mode" wives' tale.

Yea well, even though there are no DME reports available on air cooled models,
the ripped-off rear fender on one car I know about did indicate some over-tail-happy driving.
Now that ...I might worry about.
