Anyone owns a 993TT with a 997TT
Like what the title says, anyone has first hand experience with a 993 TT before owning a 997TT or owned both?
Pricing on the 993TT has softened a bit like all special cars, I think its time to get one. My dealer called me for a 993TT and I was surprised about the price now. Two years ago, it was crazy pricing.
But I would like some input on how it drives, havent driven one. How different are they?

Quad owns both. PM him. The 7TT is faster for sure but 3TT is the keeper. I feel the same way.
Faster cars don't impress me anymore. 3TT is fast enough and power band delivery is narrower than 7TT but the analogue character in the 3TT is why prices are where they are.

- I have owned a 993 turbo since 2005. During that time I also owned a 930 which I sold. Into 20 16 I bought my 997 turbo. As much as I love the 997 turbo it has given me many many issues and problems. Currently dealing with a clutch that stuck to the floorboard after having replace the accumulator a few months ago. My 993 Turbo hasn’t given me any issues in 12 1/2 years. II have maintained meticulously and I’m approaching 100,000 miles and will probably keep it for the rest of my life. I am hoping that the next year of ownership with my 997 Turbo will be problem free, I did however buy the Fidelity extended warranty for the powertrain only in the event of some kind a failure. I really believe that the 993 Turbo was the pinnacle of engineering and meticulous build quality that is simply absent once they move to the water cool cars.

I just want to enjoy myself.
I realize old school bmw and porsche have quality you cannot match. Everytime i open the door of my E39, still cant believe how different they are from my new m5. So I want another fairly modern old school porsche. I sat on one(993) and i liked ever since.
Hows reliability? For an old car, what do i need to look out for?

Ive been lucky on my used cars, whether used ferraris or porsches. You will love them(997) more if you fixthem. I drive mine 2/week 80 miles each way and I am confident of its reliability.

Curious on this too. Due to bad timing I was in the market a few years ago at the height of the mania and just got fed up trying to out-snipe flippers and dealers on anything somewhat reasonable. ("Reasonable" being relative of course since cherry TTs routinely sold for under $70k not all that long ago.)
