Default Magnetic Battery Charger

I had a customer ask me for a solution for his battery dying after not using his car so I set him up with this trickle charger set up that I put together for him. I saw this set up on a Corvette and I like it.

It uses 2 magnetic connectors to make the attachment between the CTEK trickle charger and the battery. The best part is that if you drive away and forget that the charger is on it in your garage it just pops off and doesn't damage anything. Here are some photos of the connector.

If you guys may be interested in putting a kit together I will check and see how the numbers work and see if this is something I can offer. This is a pretty straightforward project you can do on a Sunday if you work on your own car.

DISCONNECTED (connection issues on the passenger belly tray by the front of the car.

This looks cool. Is there a risk of shorting the system if conductive debris makes a connection across the diodes? Is there a cap to cover it up from the elements?

Haven't seen this type of set up before. Very interesting. Thx

Intrigued as well - a protective cap seems like a good idea

OK, I put some kits together for now. I have 50 sets of connectors but I only have 4 CTEK trickle chargers in stock.

I will provide-

CTEK Battery Charger (Multi US 3300)
Connector to the battery with about 7' of wire to connect to the car mounted magnetic connector.
2 spade connectors to be crimped onto the wire
Magnetic battery charger connector already soldered on and ready to go.

You will need to mount the two wires to the battery. Each wire had a round battery eyelet connection which should make this part easy.
Decide where you are going to mount the magnetic car connection and mount that into a 1" hole.
Cut the wires to that length and crimp 2 spade connectors on the end of the wires.
After that your job is all done.

PRICE FOR THE COMPLETE KIT AS I DESCRIBE IT HERE-
$199.00

If you are interested in using your current trickle charger and want to just buy the 2 magnetic connectors and do the kit yourself (it's not very hard to tackle yourself if you have some experience)
PRICE FOR JUST THE MAGNETIC CONNECTOR-
$59.00

We do not have it on the website yet so please feel free to give me a call and I can get it out to you right away.
