2009 Ruby Red 997 Turbo in MCLean VA
Been looking for a 6 speed 997 TT.
Came accross this car in VA.

Seems to have been on the market a long time. Was at a dealer in FL in 2016, similar miles. Anyone familiar with the car?
I love the options, including Carbon Bucket seats and the unusual color appeals.
Any info much appreciated. Thanks

Brakes not OEM
If I remember correctly then this car had PCCB but has had the carbon composite rotors replaced with steel ones.
To bring it back to pure stock would be like $3.5k -$4.5k per rotor.
Some replace the PCCB rotors with steel ones for track use and save the originals to reinstall afterwards.

Yes, I've seen the car several times. It was originally for sale in Florida with no takers at $75K until Intersport bought it and added almost $15K to the price. It's been at their shop for over a year. The brakes have been converted to steel and the hood needs a re-paint due to rock chips. But otherwise the car is in good condition. Given the long time they've owned this car I would feel comfortable offering them $7-10K less than asking and negotiate from there. JMO

I made a run at it last year. The car has been well serviced by jntersport. Pipes pinned, good maintenance. The factory carbon race seats alone are worth quite a bit. Not an expert on them, but quite a bit as in $15,000+. Based on this, I don't think the car is over market for what it is. It's actually a solid if not good deal if you're after ruby and want to modify. But, I wasn't 100% on the color or the wing. Swapping seats is easy, but I didn't want to modify such an interestingly spec'd car. The dealer wouldn't budge on price. If they even came off a few grand I'd likely have bought it.
candidly, the dealer people were a bit odd. I genuinely was after the car and it was sort of uncomfortable taking with them. I think they're not really a dealership, more of a performance shop. This isn't bad at all, just an FYI. I truly think this is part of the reason an 09 manual coupe turbo in its condition with gigantic priced options and a clean DME report has sat for a year. The PCCB issue, I'm not sure on. This wasn't an issue at all for me.
I just bought a different 997tt manual coupe that I've been after for a while, or I'd be considering it. I wouldn't tarry if you like the car. Come spring, this one will go I'm sure. Don't expect a concession on price. I gave an offer of 82 and they never took it, never followed up. Can't blame them. The rep told me the owner of the place buys cars he likes, takes them to shows, and prices them at what he wants and doesn't waiver as there's no need to move them. They actually enjoy them in the shop.

The other thing that threw me for a loop when I was looking for a vehicle over the last few years prior to getting mine was that the person ordering this vehicle spent a lot of money on performance options (aerokit, PCCB, sport chrono, GT2 LWBs) but didn't get option # 220 - LSD.

I wouldn’t touch anything Intersport has. They tend to buy cars in below average to poor condition for below market, do minimal if anything to them and slap on a fresh new high price and sit on them till some sucker comes along.

Intersport must have recently dropped their price $2K. They like to collect rather than sell cars. At least that's their local reputation. I too liked the car and was going to move on it until I found my TTS.

Congrats on finding your Car.

there is another car i’ve been talking to the selling dealer. Originally I wanted manual, and coupe, so this on the face of it doesn’t tick the boxes. But i also love the PDK. And it ticks a lot of boxes in terms of mileage and color.
Appreciate any thoughts on this one. Do you guys think it would be as strong in terms of holding value compared to a 09 TT coupe with a manual?

IMO, the 09 is more unique and will be/is a desirable collectible now and into the future. There are a lot of threads that discuss this so I won't go there now. But, the entire 997 line is also very desirable. The 11-13 997.2 TTS hits a lot of sweet spots because it corrects many of the earlier 997.1 maintenance and reliability issues. What you've found is an excellent low mileage example that's a little overpriced but still fair. I like the color, options, and the PDK is great in traffic. Although I'm not a big fan of convertibles having recently sold my 09 TT 6MT cab but in all fairness it wasn't a good option for northern VA. Cabs do much better in semi tropical and warmer climates.
So given the choice and having owned and driven both cars my choice is the TTS. It's simply the better of the two in a lot ways.

This car has been available since the Spring of 2016. It was overpriced back then and the same holds true today.

I'm lost here. I've read the ad THREE TIMES and still don't see a price, from top to bottom. Where the heck are you seeing a pricing on this and why don't I see it in that link? I only see this *ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER OF $156,830*
Just curious. This place is near me and a buddy that has dealt with them a few times never has anything great to say about them, though I could probably say that about every repair shop and most dealers in the Washington/Maryland/Virginia area I live!
