I wonder if this will be a catalyst for more noise around the issue being directed at Porsche. This should get attention - it’s nonsense that they never took responsibility for not.

Most tracks, even in the US don't have sophisticated cameras and speed sensors, most rely on flaggers.
the ring is a very old track and set in its ways in many respects, like no helmets for ex. I believe the corner workersleft early that day, in which case you're on your own.

Brutal to watch, short of the smart thinking guy (whose car got wrecked anyway) waving a yellow flag 1/8 further up, I'm not sure how the ensuing damage could have been avoided.

Maybe if everyone had kept driving, hazard lights on, low speed, instead of stopping?

that's a massive pileup, looks like the one BMW got smashed to bits. Hope everyone was ok. That's a very expensive crash.
