Default Option 845 Multifunction Steering Wheel Carbon

I am getting ready to pick up a 2010 997.2 TT and something just caught my attention. When looking at the additional equipment I noticed it is equipped with option 845 Multifunction Steering Wheel Carbon, however the steering wheel currently in the car does not look like a Multifunction Steering Wheel Carbon (see picture) am I missing something? Thank you in advance for your replies and knowledge.

Looks like somebody upgraded the car to a 991 generation 'sport design' steering wheel with real shift paddles instead of the funky buttons on the regular and multi-function wheel. Just make sure they added the stalk as well that provides the functions lost when removing the MF wheel, can't really tell in the picture.

I'm sure the carbon MF wheel was a pricey option, but I'd take the paddle shift sport wheel any day over it. Conversion isn't cheap... Sport Design wheel with the function stalk, but without airbag is about $1,500. Airbags I believe are different between the two wheels, so more $500 or so for the right airbag, and labor to install and reprogram the car, probably another $500-$1000 depending on how greedy the Porsche dealer is.

991 sport design wheel, which some retrofit on the 997

This I believe is the 997.2 MF carbon steering wheel...

Yuck!! If that's the steering wheel (MF carbon wheel )that came with the car than he did me a favor installing the 991 wheel. Good point regarding stalk for the multifunction devices.

as others have stated, the prev owner of the car has already updated this wheel to the 997.2 2011 sport design wheel.

keep in mind that if you don't like the 997.2 multifunction wheel (with the button pdk setup), you can always upgrade to the beautiful 991.2 multifunction wheel. other the the steering wheel + airbag all you need is the adapter to make it all link + work. search this forum as ppl here have made it work.

Thank You for the heads up! I like the wheel that is currently installed which others have identified as the "991 generation 'sport design' steering wheel with real shift paddles"

Now I may want to do an exhaust upgrade.

no problemo

here are the related threads - no affiliation whatsoever as i have a 997.1 multifunction and i upgraded to the 997.2 multifunction (non-pdk wheel).

if i had a 997.1 tiptronic or even 997.2 pdk i would definitely look into the 991.2 wheel MF wheel with paddles.

good luck!
