The low-tone horn on my .1 Turbo quit.

Anyone have this happen to them?

Yes, it happened to me. I never even noticed until I took car in for oil change and dealer did their multi point inspection. Full bumper needs to come off and you get new part number for the horn and a new harness or something. I needed to clean my radiators anyways so I asked them to do it.

My High tone went out earlier this year. Have both replacement horns but don't feel like removing the bumper again which I did last fall for debris cleanup and adding a mesh grille.

Not uncommon. Happened on my Cayman.. Have to remove the bumper to replace. Not that bad of a job now that I have done it before.

Definitely something I will wait until the winter to do while the car is off the road.

I finally did mine as I was embarrassed to toot the horn with the low town out of action

Every Porsche that I've owned has suffered a horn failure. I just had the low tone horn replaced on my 991.

Opportunity for a louder after market horn.

e.g. the Griot's Hella I had installed.

Bumper removal is a 30 minute job at most. Not a major at all and good to get all the debris out if you haven't done it in a while.

Just ordered the horn from Suncoast..

Almost got t-boned by someone who blew a 3-way stop sign. Having practically no horn where I live is not an option.

From Planet 9 Professor MSP (I was searching because I just activated my clown car horn the other day - don't use it much):

I know there are a few threads concerning the low horn, but thought that a crisp and focused thread on how to install said horn would be nice, especially as it is fresh in my mind (having done so yesterday). The service manager at Porsche of Orlando gave me a nice tip used by the technicians that made things go cleanly and quickly. I thought I would share!

Required Tools:
(1) A 13 mm box wrench,
(2) a T30 screwdriver or bit, and
(3) a pair of ramps or jack.

Installation Procedure:
(1) Drive your car up the ramps so as to raise the front end, or jack up the right-front corner of the vehicle (from the perspective of sitting in the car). The two horns are located behind the front bumper, just to the left of center as one faces the front of the car.
(2) Crawl underneath the front bumper and use the T30 screwdriver to remove the six center-most screws on the underside body panel that attaches to the lower portion of the front bumper—this is the clever suggestion of the service manager noted above.
(3) Laying on your back, pull the the lower portion of the front bumper down with your right hand, and with the 13mm box wrench in your left hand, slip it up inside the bumper—you can touch the horn with your left hand now.
(4) Place your right hand through the small access hole on your right in the lower front portion of the bumper. This will allow you to touch the horn with your right hand.
(5) The 13mm nut that releases the low horn is located on top of it. Note that low horn is positioned below the high horn inside the bumper.
(6) Using both hands, place the 13mm box wrench on the aforesaid nut and loosen it, and then use your hands to remove it.
(7) Pull the horn down and let it dangle outside of the bumper so that you can see the electrical connection. Push the small release tab on the connection to remove it from the faulty horn.
(8) Plug the electrical connection in the new horn and push the horn back inside of the bumper.
(9) Use the 13mm box wrench to attached the new horn to the mounting bracket, again using both hands, as in step (6).
(10) Reinstall the six T30 screws in the lower portion of the bumper.

Hope this proves to be of assistance to some of you.
