Default Who ditched PASM?

After going through the strut snapping debacle on my 2009, which I am attempting to keep stockish, I am thinking about upgrading the 2007.

Initially I was after Bilstein damptronics in concert with the TPC box. It seems however that Bilstein is out of stock in North America on the Damptronics.

So who has ditched PASM in favor of Ohlins or Motons or some other coilover?? Are you happy? Is it better than Damptronics and a TPC box?
Looking for feedback here.....

It seems like a waste not to use the dynamic damping capability that's built-in. For example, stiffening the outside wheels on a corner, while keeping the rebound on the inside softer to maintain maximum traction. Can't imagine how you could beat that with static coilovers, even quality ones like Ohlins or Motons. (And of course, Bilsteins are quality too.) That said, I can't give you a straight comparison; I have the TPC box, which is great, but still on the stock suspension.

I have the ohlins road and track

They surpass any non active damper on track but the ease of stiff vs soft with the sport button I miss

If I could do it all again

Tpc module and Bilstein comfort

My ohlins are amazing when in stiffer settings but for sf they are all soft due to road conditions

With cup 2 tires they are too stiff to run factory pasm. Cup 2 have very stiff side walls

At over 100mph on. Back roads the car felt so unsettled

With the ohlins I can do at any rate no issue they just take the abuse and DAMPEN !

Great feedback, keep it coming. I still feel like Turbofever said, that the car feels a little unsettled on bumpy high speed roads. That's why I am thinking coilovers.

Was actually looking at the B16 version of that strut, the coilover version.

I just ordered the ones I posted above...its actually the best priced out there by a country miles. Summit Racing has the rears $25 cheaper than TH, but way under everyone else. Now on to find some good springs.

Those are great units, just put them on my 09, check out the other thread "troubling pasm failure" for pictures.

Just went through your other thread. Thank goodness for you only feet from your house and going slow.

If you don't mind me asking...on the springs....why did you choose Eibach and not GMG?
They seem to be the forum favorite.

The TPC/GMG will solve that issue....

I felt the same way with mine.... slightly sloppy at speed .... but springs helped that a lot....

Now that I run the R&T Ohlins the car is rock solid up to 147MPH ..

Which is the top speed I have gotten it to on the track ...

OP- you can use Damptronic coilovers for GT3 or OEM GT3 shocks. You need front sleeves, upper spring adapters and longer front PASM cables to install any GT3 shocks on a Carrera. GT3 shocks are less comfort oriented by DSC will take care of that.
