Default PFC 08 vs. RE10 pads

Looking to replace my brake pads. Car is driven on the street and does about 12 trackdays a year. Girodisc rotors + NT01 tires.

Have the PFC 08s right now. They are great on the track. A bit too much initial bite on the street for heel-toeing, but I’ve adjust the pedals and it seems fine now. They can be loud driving around town, which I’m ok with but nothing louder. I don’t care at all how much dust the pads create.

Time for replacement and I’m considering RE10s.

Anyone try both these pads? Please let me know your thoughts.

Any other pads that have come on the market that are worth looking into?

I've been using PFC08 for a long time now, and really like them. I haven't had any noise with my Brembo type 3 rotors, but on my old car with different rotors they could make some noise from time to time.

But the PFC08 really dug into the rotors on my last few trackdays, so I have ordered RE10 to try with the next rotor change after all the positive feedback they have recived.

Interesting if anyone has some more feedback on this.

I ran PFC08's for years on my 997.2 GT3 and loved them other than the noise on street.

I'm now running the RE10 on my RS and really like them also. Much quieter than the PFC's and most of the bite. Last forever too.

For a slight compromise I like the RE10's better since my car spends more time on street. I prefer not sounding like a school bus around town.

Very happy with RE10, I'm on my 4th set.

PFC have a tick more bite. They are WAY harder on the rotors. RE10 last longer, a lot longer.

I'd say if you're running Hoosiers or Slicks you may want a little more bite than the RE10 provides, but on NT01 they are perfect. Also, another member here runs them on his GT4 with Hoosiers and enjoys.

I may be crazy, but I disagree with everyone so far...sorry guys. I think the RE10's are far better, but I disagree on the characteristics. I ran the 08's on PFC rotors for years and felt that they had very little initial bite, and I had to put my foot through the floor to get the car to stop. I thought it was normal, so I just got used to it. Also, I never once went into ABS with the PFC's. They absolutely lasted forever, but didn't have very "aggressive" characteristics...makes sense that it is an endurance pad and not a sprint pad.

I was lucky enough to drive a friend's car with the full Brembo setup while I was on the PFC's and I was blown away.

I now have the RE10's on Brembo rotors and I feel that the initial bite is much higher, and the braking iself is more aggressive. I find them better than the 08's in every way...initial bite, overall braking force and noise. I can't comment on the longevity yet, but I can say that the braking force has increased enough to allow the ABS to come on occasionally, if I am really pressing on them at the end of a fast straight. Lastly, the pedal pressure required to get the car to stop is much less with the RE10's.

To me, it's a night and day difference.

^^^ your point is fair. Keep in mind I ran the pfc with the brembo rotors.
I'm glad you're happy with the setup. Everyone has different preferences on the "feel" of components. I know what I like :-)

Perhaps it's the Brembo rotors that are giving the feel of bite, and the pads are more similar than we think...

Agreed though, I love this full Brembo setup so far.

Thank you very much guys. Will give the RE10s a go.

Little surprised no one mentioned Endless, there used to be some buzz about them a little while back. Almost nothing now.

I actually like Endless ME20s a little better than the RE10s.

I wanted to see if the people that are not experiencing noise with the RE10 pads are running stock rotors or a different rotor. Thanks!!

FWIW, we use RE-10s in combo with Brembo Type-III or Type-V rotors on almost every client vehicle and have never gotten a complain.
