I am not impressed when a manufacturer builds tremendous cars in limited numbers for collectors. I am impressed when they build them in sufficient numbers that people buy them and drive them, sometimes every day. Porsche is all about parts bin specials now.

Could have bought the 3.8 and 4.0rs all day long at or even below MSRP and as many as your heart desired. Back then they limited production because of limited demand.

Limited edition was hardly an issue with the 4.0 in Europe. Yes, they sold out pretty quick. But, could be had at msrp until end of 2013. Most of us bought them to track. Natural upgrade from 3.8l
Was all about having fun and hopefully not loose to much money doing what we love. Then this craziness hit. Last of this and last of that.

Demand for 996rs was in the 500s. They ended up making 682 and a lot of them sat at dealer lots. Since then Porsche has been aware of making demand -1

Something changed with the 991rs. Porsche couldn't really satisfy demand in the US. Or maybe they did? And dealers and flippers just sit on their cars trying to score over msrp?

Once these cars start to depreciate we might find out if they made demand +1?
