Awesome car. My white one landed couple weeks ago. Did you import it? Looks great in red. Congrats

As mentioned in an earlier post, I am in the market for a 997 GT3 RS. First one fell thru but I found another one that was represented by the dealer as "in perfect as new condition". So I got a PPI done today and, boy, did it fail the PPI spectacularly.

Just naming a few items: Wheels had been repainted, 3 windows replaced, widespread repainting and repair of the body and, worst of all, a bent subframe in the engine compartment. It's no doubt had a big hit at some time in its short life of less than 20,000 kms.

Just goes to show you, never trust a dealer or your own eye. Get an independent expert to inspect any car. It's worth it.

I might change the title of this thread to "Trying to join the 997.2 GT3 RS club".

I have just had another car inspected which looked like it was going to be a good buy....but it failed the PPI too. A repainted fender and other issues and yet was advertised as "in perfect condition, etc". What a waste of time and money. I have yet to find an undamaged car but I will keep looking.

Hey! That's just like my list of other cars! (see sig)

That's why I keep saying, one day people will wake and realize how few straight (forget about low mileage) 997 GT3 / RS cars are out there. These cars were sold during rough economic times. There were fewer examples made (compared to 991), and those that were sold, many were used as track cars. The conditions reflect their use. People really drove them and the speculators weren't as prevalent at the time.

Good luck in your search!

After being silent on the topic for 6 months, I finally found a car after a very long search.

Gray with red stripes, low mileage with only 9,000 miles, 100% 1st paint, no over revs, folding lightweight buckets, clubsport package, etc.

Pick it up on Friday. Goes straight to the garage for a detail, new tyres, change of fluids, etc.

Will post some pictures when it's finished.

Collected the 997 today. So pleased. It is in such fantastic condition. Don't think I could have found a better car. I now hope to become more active on this forum.

Congrats, please post your thoughts after some seat time compared to the 991.2 GT3 if it is a manual.
