What do you guys do if the stock lip won't come off. Just keep pulling till it breaks loose?

If bending in the wind was the more important issue, the cup lip would have holes. Buy the cup lip.

You can squeeze in a flat head scredriver between the lip and the car and pry up gently and pull. The lip has little tabs that need to unhook.

That Porsche engineer may have been talking theory, which could be correct.
However, as an engineer who has uploaded missiles on almost every warfighter in the US inventory, I know for a fact that there is a difference between theory and real-world.
If these lips are as flexible as you claim, they will be flexing in the wind and bending in various ways depending on speed and wind deflection angle.
The holes will reduce some of the bending.
I run the cup lip on my car and it's not more flexible. If anything, it's stiffer than the standard non-cup 997.1 lip, but thinner. I destroy them every 3 months if not sooner, but the price of the cup lip is 1/4 of the standard, and you get better down force.. I feel it the most on the 405 at 5pm ;-)

I was able to get the stock lip off just by yanking on it sharply. Got the cup lip mounted.

Another dumb question.
Is changing the front lip a DIY?
Thanks

Even Ivan change the lip in 30 seconds and it's about the only thing I know how to do on a car. Very easy start one end only slide it in a little go around the front doing the same and tap it in with fist around the front bumper. I never bothered with the screws.

Took me about 5 mins but i had a few stubborn spots where I had to yank pretty hard to get it off. I don't think my front lip had ever been changed since 2007.

I was in the process of fitting my new Cup lip this afternoon and found these air deflectors attached to the underside of my bumper behind the holes for brake cooling in the stock GT3 lip. I presume they have no function with the Cup lip installed without cooling holes?

I have a 07 997 Cup and 11 997 street version and can confirm they're interchangeable. Cup lip is stiffer and has a slightly different finish, more sheen. Both take minutes to remove and install.

Any advice on using these ducts with the Cup Lip.

Thanks,
