Maybe he was testing another Porsche, if it would not be RWD it could not be called GT2 (since 1995 all GT2 from 993 via 996 to 997 were RWD and it defined among others the GT2 variant of 911!

Can only relay what he told me.
His daily job is testing GTx and running them in driving events.

All turbos pre 993 were RWD, the 964 GT2 was the turbo S.

Porsche can change the criteria whenever they want and they can say the GT moniker means motorsport orientation (compared to street sport). If it does have the front electric motor then would have to be 4WD. Also putting over 850NM to the ground effectively really needs 4WD..... exciting times
