This Guards Red .2 GT3 is available again. Was taken down, but now is back up. 8400 miles, PCCB, buckets, and leather. $138k original MSRP. Still asking $136k. The lack of exposure is what is probably keeping this car from selling, but could be something else. Seems like a deal in today’s marketplace.

^^^ that car's a buy all day ^^^
so much of the mods (tasteful or not) can be swapped out and made more palatable to one's taste
Guards Red is a rarity too

Absolutely correct. I spoke with the seller (back when he still wanted 152k, which is the only reason I didn't buy it) and the shields are held on only by double sided tape so they can be easily removed. The interior red piping is literally just a pushed in friction fit. You grab one end and pull it right out. You can bring this car back to stock in about 15 minutes and zero expense.

Keep in mind this is a retired guy liquidating a museum of all types of cars. He's no Porsche expert and in my conversations with him it was apparent he's not neck deep in the Porsche minutia. He told me the he took the front lip off after damaging it on driveway entrances. Supposedly has a new one that he doesn't want to put on because it will just get damaged again. There's no argument the car is being poorly marketed, but that's the only reason it's still for sale. If the car checks out, I think it's a great buy at this price.

You have to really like Guard Red tho... This spec, if it's in Carrera White with white instrument dials I'll wire the money today...

Some of you Porsche prospective buyers are way to picky and point out things that are easily resolved. This is one of the reasons you lose out in buying good cars. At the end of the day, other less picky buyers get the best deals. Now, if you are looking for a museum piece and not a car to enjoy driving......that would be a different story.

I hated silver Porsches (and blue) - finally when the oppty came up, I jumped on an arctic silver GT3. I sold that car (dumb) and ended up moving to the midwest, got bored and moved quickly on a cobalt blue GT3
sometimes you have to compromise and move quick or the search continues, at least it finally got me into an RS (white)

Are you looking for one? I'm not a red 911 guy but the GT3 may wear it well. It looks like a good deal assuming it doesn't have any problems. I wonder what he was thinking with the badges though. Jesus. How do you look at that and say "Oh yea.....hot".

One thing that I have learned when looking for 997 GT cars is you can’t be super picky about what colors and options you want. If you make your musts stuff like it’s gotta be Aqua Blue with deviated yellow stitching and no sports chrono, you will be looking for a very longtime or maybe your spec doesn’t even exist if you have too many crazy must haves. You will probably spend more time looking for the car than you will actually owning it. My only musts are PCCB, buckets, and I’m pretty flexible on colors.
