It's the same discussion and destroys the argument that Green RS > Orange RS because there are less of them made.

A 30k mile Orange/black/silver/white RS with similar mileage and track-oriented mods (which are nice for some of us but ultimately devalue the car on the open market) is around $125k right now. So yes, there is still a premium on the green. But it is closer to zero than it is to almost double (there's an echo in here!).

The Green and Silver production numbers are so close that it doesn't dictate the value.
What is dictating the value is personal preference on a LOUD rare color vs. a non LOUD color.

It is, Orange and Green are the two best colors for the car.
Orange was the poster car and highest produced.

What answer are you looking for here?

The real question is what is the value difference on a 5000, 10000, 20000, and 30000 mile car?

I would say +$1 per less mile, starting at the latest BAT price of $140 for 30k, but then plastic dash vs leather, wart, and other options come into play as well.

Also as much as I like to say that BAT prices are the end all be all, I really think that part of the issue is that the right buyer may not have been in the room, or in some cases, 2 people really want a car. I remember a pretty standard 997.1 GT3 going for $120k or something last year. That was about $30k over what it should have went for, but obviously a couple of people were really interested in that car for some reason. This may have been a case of accurate pricing, or it may just be that only one person was really interested in the car and got it for just over reserve price.

I remember that auction, and I was extremely suspicious of it at the time. I am still pretty sure there was something fishy going on there. (Dealer friend selling to another dealer friend etc. to keep the market higher)

I dont have any proof, but the fact that at the time there were several other very similar options for sale for much less AND that car selling for a 30k premium made it pretty likely there was something fishy going on.

Exactly, now people are writing they feel bad to have missed it and would have bid $150K, now you have the $140K bidder having to step up and there is now a game...

BaT is historically weak on 997 GT3/RS product. That said, if I had a dollar for every auction, Porsche or otherwise, where people said they would have bought the car for more after the auction was over, or how they tried to bid and missed it, I would be able to buy a green RS. It's all BS. People that are real buyers make offers/bid on available cars. People that play games say they want to buy cars that are already sold, and therefore there is no danger of them having to put their money where their mouth is.
