Its been nearly 250 hours since a serious miss-shift but can these cars survive range 5 over-revs long term? At least there are no range 6.

Seems like it already has. I don't think you will get a good an answer to the long-term question with GT2's but you might with 996/7 Turbo stick owners. You just don't hear about people sticking this motor very often in stock form - and I guarantee you there are gobs of 996/7 Turbo stick owners with reports like this or worse. Might post with those guys and see what sort of response you get.
