Blackstone report after a two day DE and about 1k street miles. I run this oil my truck, bikes, and cars. Draw your own conclusions with objective data.

i use it in my diesel - is T6 the synthetic version? I'm also not familiar in reading that data. what does TR mean, and is the flashpoint being down bad?

This is a snapshot... what is the mileage on your engine and what were the elemental levels in past UoA (with different oils)?

The trend is the more important thing here...

Engine has 20-22k miles, I need to double check.

Unfortunately i don't have that data, but want to provide baseline data. I just did two days at Sonoma and will be sending out another sample to Blackstone when I change the oil at Buttonwillow in Nov.

Good oil but that's pretty limited usage, I'd guess most good synthetics would come out looking ok.

Do you have other UOAs from that engine with different oil?

I don't, sorry. No idea what the previous owner ran, or what the OCIs were. I will be aggregating data with T6 though.

Typically, I change the oil before an event and run it until the next event. Beyond that, I don't think I'll push to extend the OCI. Oil is cheap insurance at $40 an oil change!

Was the sample taken after track days or after street driving? I ask because of the viscosity and flashpoint. Maybe a bit of fuel in the oil?

It was taken after two track days + the street driving interval. I asked Blackstone about those numbers and they said,

You were wondering about the flashpoint and the TR for fuel. The two are related in that the lower the flashpoint, the more fuel in the oil. As we mentioned in the comments, the TR stands for trace, and a trace of fuel is a harmless amount, so it's not a major concern. You could get a trace from idling, cold sampling, or even some short trips/city driving.

I used to run these "diesel" oils on my Sti (H4 Turbo). They are very popular among Subaru enthusiasts for few reasons: they are cheap and everyone thinks it doesn't shear as much as popular Mobile 1 5W30 oil.

Personally I had good luck with them vs M1 because whenever I did my oil change I wouldn't burn oils or very little compare to M1.

How is it 40? Filter is 13 and needs two 5 quart jugs of M1 or Shell T6 which are 25-30 each? I think I'm averaging around 100 DIY. Granted even 100 is cheap insurance.

I always try to buy in bulk for things I know I'll need. T6 was < $18/ea, MANN filters are $7/ea.
