Did you have to make any modifications or purchase extra parts to fit a 997-2 steering wheel in your car?

Yes aside from the steering wheel the 997.2 air bag is needed and the 997.2 steering control module. Here is the part number: 997.613.289.01

It's very easy to install all this, I can walk you through it. Once it's all installed you will need to take it to the dealer or to someone with a piwis to initialize the steering control module.

Cool, thanks! I would assume retrofitting a 997-1 steering wheel in a 997-2 would be the reverse process? I'm happy now that my wheel is all leather, but it's good info to have.

Where did you get all the work done? Would love to get some of my pieces redone in leather with white stitching.

Steering wheel was done by CarsDream in Poland, Shifter & E-Brake are by Dallas Custom Steering Wheel. The rest of the red stitching is factory.

Here's a cheap wheel if anyone's looking for a spare to recover: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Porsche...-/272020363855

I agree, thinner is better for feel at the track. Love the Cup wheel!

Had Dallas do several wheels for me and my son, including a thicker alcantara update for our F150 tow vehicle. Happy with the results...

Although when I was at the factory in May I was able to sneak in the Museum work shop and there was a 997-2 Ruby RS with a 997-1 wheel...

Beautiful Ruby red RS!
