Default Looking for 997 exhaust set up

Hi guys. Im a 6-3 guy looking to upgrade exhaust and rear bumper to center out. I know the center out bumper will be a challenge, but initially Im looking for 997 headers and side cans. I'll get the pipes from Sharkwerks. I was speaking to Alex earlier and he mentioned the EVO 1 set up? Do you know what he means? If any of you have this in the garage and want to part with it, please let me know. Thanks

I think Alex is referring to the Evoloution Motorsports Headers. Not cheap and I didn't think they fit a non GT3.

As far as a center exit exhaust, I think if you just concentrate on getting the sound you want, you'll forget about a center exit.

Just curious, what does, "I''m a 6-3 guy" mean?

6-3 means he has a 996 gt3, as opposed to a 7-3. And, his example is one of my all time favs!

Yes, I've got a 996 GT3 2004. I am looking for the center out 997 set-up for sure I need the 997 headers and mufflers, and Alex mentioned the Evo 1 set-up so am trying to get that if possible. Any leads or advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and Thanks Scott! Congrats on the Lambo too!

i'm not sure but couldn't you just get 997 stock headers and side cans and put on a bypass and call it good? not sure if you need to go full aftermarket

I would highly recommend reaching out to Charles Dundon at Gerber Motorsports in Seattle. He has built many systems for the 6GT3. Check out the satisfied user threads on the 6GT3 section. Also built systems for a couple of 7GT3 Rennlisters. No affiliation, just very satisfied.

Thanks for this idea, and I assume many center out 996 GT3 guys use this, correct? I assume the cats are internal to the mufflers or headers?

I guess so. He said they are very difficult to source? I'm not sure at this point. Thanks

Correct about the cat being integral to the oem header(and the cats can wear out with a lot of track use). A lot of 997 guys delete the side mufflers and retain the center muffler. It's a lighter weight configuration.

I saw this thread where someone converted 996 to a 997 lookalike - it's not the first time i've heard of people doing this:

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/g...onversion.html

redmonkey had a full akra exhaust for a great deal, that woulda fit the bill for you.

I have brand new GT3 side exhausts....the car literally went from the dealer to the shop to put in an aftermarket setup. I'd sell them on the cheap since I have no use for them...pm me your email address and I can send you pics.
