Trickle charging question
Guys when trickle charging your battery do you completely shut your hood down or do you leave your hood partly open? I feel that closing the hood completely could crimp the battery tender cord and also fear that leaving the hood partially open, the lights would stay on.

i leave my hood open or just unlatched. the light goes out after sometime or a few hours. that way i do not have to pop the hood again to undo the cable and drive off. saves me a step. whatever juice you lose from the hood open is recovered by the charger.

I leave my hood closed and unlatched, cover on the car and everything is fine. I never knew that a light stayed on.

I leave the hood unlatched also. The light does go out. I also leave the drivers side window down. I've had to jump two different 997.2 cars that have had either the battery go bad or the charger go bad. Each time it's been a pita to jump the car via the emergency fuse box method because you couldn't open the hood with the switch on the door sill or the key.

I haven't wintered my GT3 yet, but if you're worried about the light, you could just pop out the bulb I'd think.
