Europe and the GT3 at Guadix
The miles keep rolling... apologies for my lack of updates, rest assured my GT3 continues it's traveling ways. While I'd like to say that I've continued to bounce around Europe without a care, the French Gendarmerie saw to it that France was off-limits for parts of 2014/15.
I'll post some GT3 travelogues again soon, but in the meantime we brought the machine back down to spend some months around Andalucia: the southern region of Spain. I could go on and on about how beautiful it is around the Sierra Nevada mountain range, cool cities such as Granada, beaches and the rest... but truth is the best days start at Circuito Guadix.
I've mentioned it previously: 2.7km of well maintained track, 13 turns, a touch of elevation, big runoffs and the place to myself. It is used by manufacturers for testing and filming, race teams for test days, and so on. If you've seen one of the recent 991 GT3 RS video campaigns, you may recognize Guadix!
I'm running the GT3 stock, factory alignment, and a set of shoes which can dance in the rain - Bridgestone RE050A N1. I've linked a YouTube video of a lap from last week. It was warm, about 95F... the GT3 performed flawlessly, oil and water temps stable, brakes only fading lightly. Truth is the tires gave up the ghost and overheated , so needed to mix 10 lap stints with cool-down time.
Of course some track friendly tires, a bunch of camber all around, and a tweak of the sway bars would bring the times down and keep me out there for longer stints. Fortunately, I passed the time by having a go in a Radical SR3 1500 - the same one Mr. Hamilton himself used to pilot around this course for fun when he was younger. Had a great time with it, the sequential shift easily prodded with a pinky just off the tiny wheel. The slicks warmed up quickly, however my lack of aero experience will keep lap records very safe. What an amazing ride!
More to come.

Great video - nice looking circuit. Can I ask who do you use to insure your GT3 while in Europe?
