dealer is asking basically 80. i think worth 65-70... but no dice.

if anyone wants it.. it's at park place porsche, if you want the car.. say brandon johnson sent you. (he's a close friend and the one that originall sent me the info and went to take a pic at dealer) he doesnt work at dealer but if a sale works out. maybe will help him on next purchase.

$80k is a very fair price, if its in good shape it won't last for long

Agreed. Especially for a Porsche dealer.

That seems to be the current market range for the described car, assuming good history.

$65K = desperate or naive seller or salvage title

if the car is very clean, without track history/track rash, all stock, documented ownership/service history, no mechanical issues or bad over revs, then it is worth low 80s in this market - the fact that they are asking 79,900 i suspect not all boxes above are ticked...given this is a porsche dealer i expect it to have a clean title...don't think they would touch a branded title 07 car

There are a zillion factors which others have noted to consider. Assuming everything is on the up and up. It's amazing to me the rennlist 997.1 discount. The .1 Rs can sell for whatever (practically the same car) and the .2 gt3 is of course better are the mantras around here (I think it's a push honestly between the mark 1 and 2 cars but diff discussion) I could swap my .1 reg gt3 for a .2 Rs tomorrow. But I don't. Good luck sounds like a good deal from a dealer as others have said. I think you would be hard pressed to find it cheaper.

I am with you Modena... the price escalation from 7.1 to 7.2 to RS versions of both is simply not based even remotely on the driving performance differentials between the cars. The .2 is not 50% better than a .1 (maybe 5% on a good day with a damn good driver on a circuit). Similarly the .1 RS is not remotely 60-75% better than a regular .1 (the performance gap is less than 5% IMO).

So it is a lot of other things in this time of easy, often stupid money. But not performance. I guess this is not surprising, as the Speciale is not 75-90% better performance wise than a 'plain jane' 458... such is the terrain of high end performance toys in our current economic climate.

It may take a few years but when the next economic downturn hits, expect the premiums to collapse like a bad souffle. In the meantime, if there is such a thing as a 'value' in the 997GT3 genre, it is the .1 NB IMHO.

I'd be shocked if it lasts a week at 80 from a Porsche dealer, no way you're getting it for 65-70.

Looks like the carfax is clean and it's a 1 owner Dallas area car. I bet another dealer snatches it and lists for 90.
