GT3 Market

GT3 Market
I am glad I found my car when I did. I have been continuing to look at Ebay and Autotrader and the inventory is getting pretty slim. I do not see many nice GT3's for sale at all. The dealer network I bought mine from had like 5 and are down to 1 997.2 GT3 left.
What do you think the 997 GT3 market will do? Will we see more available when the 991 GT3RS or GT4 come to market?
Will the prices continue to rise? I would say no but then I did not think the 993 tt market could get any higher and it did. I CANNOT believe 993tt's are asking 200k, assuming they are selling for close to that.
I know you would just be guessing if you answer my questions but I was wondering what people see happening in the future.
How may GT3's roughly are there in the US?

Good news for someone looking is I don't see the prices moving much higher and I think they will be much lower in 5 years. If I owned a GT3 RS it would absolutely be for sale.
In the interim leverage your debt with this low interest rate on things other than GT3s however the problem is at this point most everything else is priced too high as well because of all the leveraging and that includes housing. You just can't win which means you buy gold and wait LOL

The answer is and has always been very simple: Supply & Demand.
The GT3 is a limited production car and there are and always will be more people looking for one than the amount of cars offered for sale. New product offerings have little to no impact on these cars, it's comparing apples to oranges. And besides, the new cars are all sold out anyway.

My simplistic analysis is that, as prices of new cars escalate and they move more away from analogue controls (hydraulic steering, computer controlled 4ws etc), cars will continue to hold value.
Short of the GT4 (which most can't buy due to supply), what other car can you buy right now for 100k that gives you the experience and robustness of the GT3?
Then again, if we all had crystal *****, we would have done like mooty and cornered the market on 997 GT3's a year ago

Don't foresee the GT4 having much impact on the GT3 market. The cars aren't going to be available. I put a deposit on one, was told that it would like be 2-3 years before I could get a car-- if at all. The dealer expects to only see 2-3 cars a year. Quite likely that when my number does come up, we will be looking at a turbo car. Porsche is under pressure for weight, fuel economy and emissions- that will force a heavy move to turbo 4's instead of normally aspirated 6's. Given the troubles I had with my 951, I'll not confident in a potential boosted 4 cylinder car- especially with what would be a new engine (flat four).
The 997 GT3 is the end of a muscle car era from Porsche. 991 platforms are so intertwined with the technology it drives the cost up to a different type of buyer, and the computers do what used to require driver skill.
Love mine, plan on hanging on to it. Nothing on the horizon seems at all coming close to what my 997 GT3 is.

At seems as if all pricing for Porsches is rising. Air cooled 911s are way up in price. New 991s are well over 100K. Makes the 997 base GT3 look like a bargain!

Yup, everyone is tired of taking this car and turning it into an investment. It's a fricken car.
