Opinion on Alcantara Center Console
I've been thinking about switching my standard black center console for the Alcantara covered version in my 7.2 GT3 and would like opinions from owners that have or had this console as well as how do you think the Alcantara will look.
My interior consists of:
78 Black Full Leather with Red Deviating Stitching on seats and dash only
CLE Trim Strip Switch Panel is Alcantara
XDJ Gear Lever Trim in Carrara White
CDN Air Vent Slats in Carrara White
XSX Guards Red Belts

i think this part looks good in alcantara - benefit is no scratching like the plastic part. Mine is thrashed from the seat belts.

It's not for everyone but I absolutely love the Alcantara Console, wouldn't trade it for carbon or leather. It really pulled everything together as I have a lot of other Alcantara trim and the painted console just didn't flow.
If you can't find a used one Sunset and Suncoast both had them available.

Hello
My first post on rennlist so please be gentle
I'm in London and own a 997.1 GT3, the interior of which I'm in the process of having retrimmed in alcantara. So far I've done the whole dash area, centre console and Recaro PP cushions, just need to do the door cards now. Will also do the Recaro PP seats "properly" (including the frames) after I've done the doors.
I usually post on the 911uk.com forum and have a thread there with lots of pics http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=640...=asc&start=280
Here are a couple in case there are rules here against linking to other forums -
The centre console is very easy to remove, and removing and getting retrimmed gives you more options on colour (rather than buying an alcantara factory console). Depends whether you're happy with going aftermarket or not though I guess, some people need to have a factory piece of equipment, for me that's not so important.
